A Star Was Born

2000 years ago the Savior of this world—the Bright Morning Star—was born (Rev. 22:16). The birth of that star brought light to all who dwelled in spiritual darkness (Matt. 4:16). Two thousand years later, after the same manner, another new star was born: ANGEL TV. While on a visit to the U.S. in 2005, the word of the Lord came unto me in a vision. On the morning of September 18, the heavens opened before me in a vision. I saw a gigantic form of the heavenly Father in the mid-heaven. Though I could not see His Face, which was shrouded in blinding glory, I knew deep in the Spirit who I was beholding.

The Lord God stretched out His Hands towards me, a beautiful baby inside. I reached out to receive the precious baby. The baby looked calm and peaceful. A golden chain with a red ruby stone sat around its neck. As I pondered, looking at the lovely infant, these words were impressed upon my mind:

• And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins (Matt. 1:21).
  
• For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given ….. (Isa. 9:6).

The Lord God then said to me: “Angel TV will be a light to the nations. As the birth of My Son is celebrated as Christmas by the world, so shall you launch the channel on that day – December 25, 2005. Do not delay.” (DISCLAIMER: We are not declaring that the Lord Jesus was born on December 25, 1 AD.)

This divine mandate, with a dateline so near, had my dear companions and me scrambling madly towards the launching of Angel TV. We produced programs, got a studio ready, signed many contracts, including with a satellite company and with various cable companies to carry our channel in their package. We worked day and night. Some of our producers and editors did not go home for three weeks. Blessed souls. In the end, we managed to prepare 12 hours of programs for a soft launch of the channel on Christmas 2005.

The divinely appointed moment finally arrived. Our ever faithful and capable administrator Amutha , prayerfully placed the tapes into the machines. Within seconds we were ON-AIR. Glory to God in the highest! On December 25, 2005, the heavens over Asia began proclaiming the soon coming of the Lord Jesus through Angel TV. Hallelujah!

The birth of Baby Jesus was not without its challenges. His first warfare came in the form of King Herod’s soldiers, who were given the mandate to kill all the newborn babies in Bethlehem (Matt. 2:16). Likewise, the baby Angel TV faced its first warfare a day before the launch, where our channel was to be uplinked from a reputable satellite company. The Singapore government had rejected our application for a broadcast license on grounds that it was against their policy to grant licenses to TV channels of a religious nature.

But God is in control. Always. At the birth of Jesus, Joseph was forewarned in a dream by an angel to flee to Egypt with his family for safety, for Herod was after the baby’s life (Matt. 2:13). Likewise, three weeks before the launch of the channel, as I was meditating the word of God one morning, an angel on a horse appeared before me in the Spirit. He told me not to worry over the challenges I was about to face concerning Angel TV for God’s Will will be done. Reminded of this vision, we went on the air as divinely scheduled, undaunted. Hallelujah!

Multitudes of Christians and non-Christians began to view our Angel TV programs and quickly wrote in to express their appreciation for this unique new channel. Many testified that the programs were edifying, informative, entertaining, challenging, and uplifting.
